However, I have gotten to spend some time with our students, which has been very refreshing. They are a great group of ladies. I have led a weekly Bible study with three of the women on the topic of the Holy Spirit. It's called Thirsty. My desire in choosing our studies for the summer was helping to prepare them for a lifetime of walking with Christ. Most of them will be seniors this coming year and I really desire for each one to have a vision for how God can use them after graduation.
Another aspect of this project that is interesting to me is that all 6 of the ladies are living together in one apartment. Serious togetherness! Fortunately, they get along really well, but I think the space is beginning to feel a little tight. :-)
I met with my group today and we talked a little bit about how difficult it can be to live in such close quarters and how much easier it is to just have your own “space.” I think one reason it's so hard is that there is no where to hide. You see your roommates' sin and (maybe even harder to take) your own sin issues, very clearly. One of my prayers for this group is that they would use this togetherness to really experience growth, both in dealing with their own issues and in gently confronting the issues of others.
Please pray that the students would have a good last month here in July. That they would continue to grow spiritually and relationally and that they would finish up their projects.
