God of the Outrageous

We're praying for 600 students to attend our annual Boston Winter Conference (BWC), which I am planning. There - I said it out loud. 600 is an outrageous goal, considering last year's attendance was 274. There's no earthly way we could see a more than 100% increase in a year. No earthly way...

However, here's what I know: BWC and conferences like it are key moments in which God speaks into the lives of students. Last year, a student from the University of New Haven came to BWC. She went back to her campus fired up to re-ignite her campus ministry. She began sharing her faith on campus, and pulled together a weekly meeting. Over the summer, she went on a Crusade Summer Project, which further spurred her on in her efforts. This fall, there is a committed group of around 30 students at the University of New Haven; last fall there were none. BWC was key to God speaking to the heart of this one student, who has since impacted so many others.

There are many more stories like this that stem from a conference of 250-300 students. What will God do with 600 students? Will we reach a spiritual "tipping point", when transformational community begins to explode all over the Northeast? Another thing I know: this is God's heart. So we're praying for 600 students at BWC this year. Will you pray this outrageous prayer with me? Let's ask the God of the Outrageous to accomplish something huge, for His name's sake.
