Big Break Live Update #1

Throughout the month of March, students from the Northeast have been joining others from around the country at Panama City Beach, FL for Spring Break. Among the revelers are students involved with Campus Crusade, who are not there to party, but to have spiritual conversations with other students and share the good news of Jesus. This week, among the 1100 or so students on "Big Break", are students from UMass Amherst and several schools in Boston. UMass Amherst is there with 46 students - 20 more than they took last year!

One of our northeast staff is sending out daily updates, which I will use to pass on praises and prayer requests to you. [Note: At the request of the staff member, I will not be directly quoting him or using names.]

Please pray for the Amherst group, for Courtney (our Conferences and Events Intern at the Regional Office) and the Boston staff/students, and the rest of the students who are there. Every year, God does amazing things as students step out in faith to share with their peers on the beach. I'm excited to hear what happens!

Update #1:

The students have arrived safely, and are spending tonight getting oriented, prayer walking the beach, and splitting up into pairs for sharing tomorrow on the beach. Please pray:
  • for those who are nervous about tomorrow, that they will have courage and rely on God as they step out in faith.
  • for the staff who are making the team assignments, for wisdom and discernment so that all may have the best possible experience.
  • for those with Crusade and on the beach who are not Christ-followers, that this week will be a watershed event in their faith journeys
  • for good weather! Good weather=more beach partying=more opportunities for good conversations.
