Bubble Tea: Relational Lubricant

Is it possible to forge deep friendships with people you just met, who are from across the country and have widely varying skills, interests, and life experience? Through three of our eight weeks on Summer Project, I have to say yes! After arriving from places like Laramie, Jacksonville, Cincinnati, Las Cruces, and St. Louis, the 14 students on our Summer Project have forged new friendships as they experience living together in a new city. Besides our scheduled events, impromptu outings to the New England Aquarium, Boston Public Library, and to Chinatown for bubble tea (pictured) have helped to foster friendships and healthy community.
