Learning in LA + Crossroads

Getting ready to head out VERY early on Tues
I'm typing this from a hotel just down the road from LAX airport in Los Angeles, where I'm participating in a couple of days of training for a tool that we've begun using in Cru called the Predictive Index (PI).  The PI is a workplace drives assessment that measures how people are innately wired to think about and approach work.  I've been using it as part of a talent management strategy in Cru to help staff think through their best work fit and contribution.

This is my second time through this training and I'm thrilled that several others are being trained for the first time, as this will give us the capacity to utilize the tool more broadly within Cru.  I'm grateful for the ways that God provides hands for the work that needs to be done.

Normally, we'd have this type of training at Cru's Headquarters in Orlando, however we chose Los Angeles this time in order to connect to a student conference happening here this week called "Crossroads."  This is a conference held for Cru students on the West Coast who are preparing to graduate.  It is designed to tell them about opportunities to serve with Cru and invite them to join us.  But more than that, the desire is to give them space to get away for a couple of days to think and pray through how the Lord has created them and what He might be calling them to as they take this next life step.  The vision is that every attendee would leave trusting that God is guiding their path and will use them wherever they land.  We love having folks join us vocationally, but we know that they will be valuable to the Kingdom wherever they go.

Prayer Requests:
 - Pray for the folks being trained in PI - that they would feel well-equipped and that God would use the knowledge they are gaining to help Cru better steward our human resources.
- Pray for Crossroads this weekend - that the details would come together well and that the students would hear from the Lord, leaving with vision and calling.

In prayer before beginning our PI Training
